After watching the Adults version of the FIT Improv Show by Folkestone Improv Theatre, I wanted to see how the cast adapted the morning performance for FIT Kids’ Improv Show to bring the fun of Improv to the stage without strong adult humour and references.
I wasn’t disappointed as the children’s parcipation throughout the show is the main voice that decides what the Improv group performs, and this audience made some really good suggestions that the Improv group carried out.
However, although the Improv group has set up the show into themes. Lucy, who is the main host of the group, asked the children in the audience to call out ideas around these themes and built up on the spot sketches from these. The main body of the show is predetermined, but everything else takes place before your eyes.
As it’s all done through improvisation, there’s not much point discussing what you can expect as each show will be different as audience members call out different ideas, although they could potentially be similar.
FIT Kids’ Improv Show had the children interacting and engaging throughout, and you never quite knew what was going to be suggested next.
