A Year and a Day is a one hander play written by Chris Sainton-Clark, who is locally based in Norfolk and tours across the UK and internationally.

The play is set in County Meath in Ireland and brings us across to Norfolk during the performance. It all started in 1958, with Chris, who plays Nathan. He is married to his long-term partner, Elsie, and still spends a lot of time with his best mate from school, Sam.

They are all around the age of twenty-five when one night in 1958, Nathan is hot with a bright beam of light. The end result of this is that every time he goes to sleep, the world has moved on one year and a day. However, for some reason, Nathan is only a day older, and while those around him age naturally, he remains young.

As the play progresses and the storyline develops, this causes many difficulties for Nathan and his wife, who thinks he has gone missing. Due to financial issues, Nathan and Sam attempt to make a robbery for a  valuable coin.

Over the next 65 years until his wife dies issues, and further relationship challenges develop. He wife has a child who eventually becomes older than his father, and so the child can never know who Nathan is.

The play is going on to be performed in Philadelphia for fifteen days this year and has also been translated into Mandarin for Thailand performances.
