What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?
PALS
How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?
As a company, this is only our second time taking a show to Edinburgh Fringe. However, over the last 10 years we’ve been performing, reviewing, front of house, box office, venue supervisors and of course, audience members. So Fringe is very much a staple of our year.
How do you cope with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?
I would try and book one day (at a minimum) where you get out of Edinburgh, turn your phone off and do something that isn’t related to theatre. We know we all love theatre, and Fringe isn’t going anywhere, so your mind and body will thank you for a wee break.
What sort of shows will see if you have time
We’re prioritising Scottish work and going to see our pals! We’re really excited to see our previous cast members shine as they premier their own shows this year. Briony Martha has co-written and will be performing with Zak Reay-Barry in “Do Astronauts Masturbate in Space?”, a dystopian, black-comedy exploring governmental control in a young couple’s bid to have a child. Millie Rodger is making her playwriting debut with “Jumper Bumps” which tells the story of two friends navigating young motherhood, the complexities of choice and coercive relationships.
Have you performed at any other Fringe’s? If so which has been your favourite so far?
We have not, but we’d love to!
Any advice to newbies about flyering?
Invest in a thick, quality flyer! So many people took one of our flyers last year and immediately responded with “oooh that’s sturdy”. It’s funny, but it works. It also means that your flyer isn’t going to end up disintegrating at the bottom of someone’s bag when it inevitably rains.
I would also recommend going out in pairs – flyering can be disheartening when people ignore you, but if you’ve got a pal, you can stay sane and keep smiling.
What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?
We’re putting the vibes out there to take PALS on a Scottish tour. We really just want to spread joy and inspire young women all over Scotland that being true to yourself, in all your chaos, is the best thing you can do.
The dream would be to take the gals on a Highlands and Islands tour and take the show to the communities we’ve come from.
We’d also love to get the play published as we’ve engaged with a lot of school teachers who are very passionate about using the text in schools for drama exams. We keep saying it, Scottish theatre needs more fun and in-depth roles for young women!

…………………….
Female-led and female-produced, PALS is a Scottish adventure-comedy play telling the story of four, crude, chaotic yet completely normal gal pals as they embark on a camping trek in the west of Scotland.
If you come to see PALS, you’ll not only have a laugh, you’ll get a free badge as well! Who doesn’t love a Fringe freebie?
