Bake Off: The Great British Pantomime!-Edinburgh Fringe-2025-Part of the July Challenge.

What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?

Bake Off: The Great British Pantomime!

How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?

This is our second year as a company, but our oldest trip to Edinburgh together was in 2019! We’re really excited to take Bake Off up to Edinburgh again and make it even bigger and better (and sweeter) than last year.

How do you cope with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?

It’s all about balance! We’re really lucky that our company is filled with the most amazing people, and it’s so tempting to be doing things all of the time and making the most of your time in Edinburgh, but rest and time alone is still making the most of your time. A quick trip back to accommodation for a snack (or a baked good) and a lie down refreshes you ready to keep going for the rest of the day.
I also love to get up a little earlier than necessary in the morning so that I can go for a walk and take in the atmosphere before it all gets a bit chaotic later in the day. We are so so lucky that we all work together really well, but we’re also all friends, so it’s nice to have a morning wander with some friends to prepare you for the day.

What sort of shows will see if you have time?

We have a couple of traditional show’s that we simply have to go to, Jon Robertson’s The Dark Room is a favourite, as well as Sh!tfaced Shakespeare, but we also try and make the most of the Free Fringe show’s while we’re out and about.
I love to try and see some new musicals, or, of course, any other pantomimes that are up.

Have you performed at any other Fringe’s?

We haven’t, but we’re a London based company so we’re super keen to try out some Fringe’s closer to home… watch this space!

Any advice to newbies about flyering?

If you have a funky costume or character – use them! There’s so many people flyering about that using anything to catch people’s eye is super helpful. Oh, and don’t get disheartened when people don’t want a flyer, someone will!

What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?

We have a few things in the works, but nothing concrete yet! We’re hoping to get to work on some super-secret new shows in the next year as well, so lots of exciting things could be coming for MTAO Productions.

                      …………………

We’re super excited to start baking things happen at the Fringe this year, especially as some of our cast are making their Fringe Debut!

“The contestants on this year’s Bake Off have been doing much much worse than usual. It’s almost like… sabotage? Join our crew of almost-recognisable faces as they band together to defeat the world’s greatest evil: Ratt Lucas. Using the power of friendship and a predictable parody (or two), will they succeed in the endeavour? Or will there be egg on their faces? Come and find out. Returning for another year of Fringe performances, there will be puns, buns and tonnes of funs!”

Come and see us at Greenside George Street from the 18-23rd of August at 3:05 pm. Previews at Hampton Hill Theatre, London, on the 26th July.
