Anne Hegerty-Fareham Live Pantomime Interview.

My final of the day was an adhoc interview with Anne Hegerty, who many will recognise from ITV’s programme The Chase as “The Governess.” Anne is going to be performing in the role of Poison Ivy, the villainous sidekick to the Giant. A role that Anne really enjoys playing.

If you could play any Pantomime role, which would you choose?

The role I am playing this year in Jack and the Beanstalk as the Giants sidekick. Although Poison Ivy might have a slightly different name in other productions. It’s a role I really enjoy playing.

How do you feel about being part of the first experience that some children will have at the theatre?

The babies in the audience don’t really know what’s going on and are memerised by all the glitter and lights. I know that Grandmothers are bringing their grandchildren to watch the lady off The Chase, and they will enjoy it. My favourite challenge is the “sulky teenage boy” in the front row who is determined not to enjoy it, and I make it my challenge to make him laugh at least once.

What’s your favourite Pantomime?

Jack and the Beanstalk, and this is my fourth time in the Giants’ sidekick role.

How many Pantomimes have you performed in?

I started in 2014, and currently, up to this one, I have been in 14 so far.

What’s your favourite cake?

Lemon drizzle cale.

What is your next role after the Pantomime?

I am going to be playing the role of a Victorian vicar in a film version of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, which will start filming next year. I will also be in a touring Pantomime production of the Wizard of Oz.
