Dan Kelly: How I Went to Every Supermarket in the World- Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

It is very unusual to find a unique themed show at the Edinburgh Fringe. However, Dan Kelly: How I Went to Every Supermarket in the World Over is one of those shows.

Kelly’s show has been set over the time span of ten years, where Kelly had travelled the globe gathering data on international prices for the data company he worked for after leaving university. He confesses he didn’t know what else to do and knew he wanted to travel the world. It was an ideal job for him.

I particularly found the Russian data collection section funny as there weren’t many items you could actually tell by their advertising what the product was. Apart from the coffee bean in a hat, although strength, etc, was completely unknown. Kelly’s descriptions of these images from his dictaphone are very funny.

Kelly uses a projector to show the inside of some of the places he visited when he had been collecting the data in some of the supermarkets. Along with photographs of the various working visas countries that he visited. From Chad, Saudi Arabia, and India.

We also learn about some of the shopping habits in other countries. What happens when you find a “gem” item and why he was locked in a supermarket when visiting Saudi Arabia. All becomes clear.

If you are looking for something completely different during the Edinburgh Fringe this year, then this is a show for you.
