Baby Brain-Interview ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

Baby Brain is a topic that many women who have had babies will be able to relate to. I have caught up with the company to find out more about their play Baby Brain coming to Edinburgh Fringe this August.
When and where are you performing at the Fringe this year?
We’re at Assembly George Square Studios, Studio Three. 4.40pm daily from 21-30th August.

What was the inspiration for your show?
Kimberley Nixon’s experience of perinatal OCD was the initial inspiration, and Kim sharing her story online attracted loads of other mums who had been through postpartum psychosis, so we thought: we got to do a story that tackles this traumatic topic – but in a funny way!

Have you performed at any other Fringe Festivals before embarking on Edinburgh?
We’ve done Greater Manchester Fringe, and Camden Fringe.

Have you been given any advice or help from performers or creatives who have previously been to the Edinburgh Fringe?
A theatre director friend told us: Get merchandise! People want to support your play, and will spend money willingly afterwards if they’ve enjoyed it! (we’ve got tote bags & a special programme, which sell well after shows!)

What is the best piece of advice about working in Theatre you have received?
Whether it’s an audience of 10 or 1000, you got to give it your all, every performance deserves to be the best it can possibly be; every show has the potential to make an impact you didn’t expect.

Who or what inspired you to take to the stage?
It’s not Kim’s first time doing theatre, or a one woman show, but it’s the first time the writer/directors Tim Clague & Danny Stack are doing a play, so it’s all been a huge learning curve, and a massive inspiration to take to the stage, enjoying everything about the experience.
