The auditorium in Theatre Royal Winchester was rocking last night, February 2nd 2026 as The Americana Revue took to the stage with headliner singer and x-factor runner up Ben Mills.
Firmly based in legendary American rock artists the band covers a wide range of popular songs from bands such as Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. This is only a small selection and more information can be found on their website.
Musical Director James Cassidy has created a different style of tribute band. In which it pays tribute to many different artists in their unique style.

However, the highlight of the evening for me was watching the talented saxophonist take to the stage. Who is none other than Tony Rico who has worked with many of the biggest names in the music industry. Including one of my favourite 1980’s band Bad Manners.
One audience member called Carol, was celebrating her 70th birthday and thanked the band publicly for making her birthday special and having a fantastic night out. It was a touching moment and they sang “Happy Birthday” to her unscripted. It’s always nice to see audiences really engaging and sharing moments like this.

I can highly recommend catching The Americana Revue while they are on tour. There’s something for all rock music fans and each performance will be slightly different as the band has a six-hour playlist that is shortlisted to two hours for each show. Although tonight’s finale was the full-length version of American Pie by Don McClean which was well received by the audience, great choice to finish off a fantastic night of rock.
