Maja Bloom has some great advice for those new to the Fringe and those returning to the Fringe who found it over overwhelming last time.
When were last performing at the Edinburgh Fringe?
1st and only time in 2023; I was in a play of someone else and did a few open mic spots and then started doing stand up. Now, I am coming back with my solo show.
What was the name of your previous show?
It was HAY FEVER, not by me, I was just cast in it 🙂
How long has your current show been running for?
It has only just started; it had its premiere at Faversham Fringe 2024 and London premiere in Feb 2025.
Do you have any “good luck” rituals you undertake before performing?
I do some meditation, breathing, trying not to panic too much and focus on having fun and not speaking too fast!
How have you found booking accommodation this year?
Stay sane, take care of yourself, health including your mental health first.
What are you plans after the Edinburgh Fringe is over?
Not booked anything yet, so.. it has been a bit mad! 🙂
What three pieces of advice would you give to first-timers going to the Fringe?
Have a rest and hike with my partner.
Then, reassess and take my show to other places 🙂
