In The Broken Arrow (2026), Barry Barnes, who is played by Steve Johnson, had the world at his fingertips. Whilst competing in a local darts match, tragedy struck as his mentor is killed in a fatal car accident.
Competing in the Ken Raymond Memorial Trophy, Barry arrived drunk, knocking a plate onto the floor. Barrys’ arrogance is highlighted when he calls his competitors “knobheads” whilst he has the trophy glued to his hand. Post-tournament, whilst visiting the grave of his mentor, his drunk actions caused him to pass out drunk. This causes Barry to contract frostbite, with medical professionals amputating his arm as a result. When Barry discovers that his arm has been amputated, he lets out a deafening scream as the screen turns to black.

Facing off against his former competitor Derek, Barry decides not to play the fixture due to comments made by Derek. As Barry leaves the venue, Derek makes multiple snide remarks, including “There he goes, Barry the broken man”, and “Broken arrow.” In the following scene, Barry is dejected due to the previous nights’ events. Despite his previous actions, Barry turns to drink. However, he does not become drunk as a result of his actions, and instead plays darts with complete strangers in pubs, wagering £20 each time. He claims to have lost his arm fighting in Iraq, despite this not being the case.

Having been awarded benefits due to his lost arm, Barry instantly loses them due to his actions of earning money by defrauding the public by being exposed by an individual who was not named. His mother expressed her fury by tearing the letter up and calling Barry a numpty. As Barry watches television, he and his manager discover that darts had become an Olympic sport, with Barry reminiscing on his past and the fact that he could have won a gold medal. It is also learnt what Barry did after his mentor passed away in the car accident.

Significantly later on in the film, Barry attempts to make a comeback, when he attempts to beat his arch nemesis Darts Vader, Paul Wild, in the final part of the film. Whether he managed to defeat Darts Vader or not, you will have to find out.
