Searching for Robert Hennessey-Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

What happens to a child whose born into the world of uncertainty and spends a lot of their time searching for their father? For a start, they ask every man who knocks on the family door and questions tgem if their his father, to the point that the delivery drivers change their routes to avoid him.

From about the age of 7, Michael Hennessey has been searching for his father Robert Hennessey. Every time he thinks he might be close to discovering the truth, he ends up at another dead end. Until his husband buys him and his ancestry DNA kit to help him in his quest.

It’s a touching and heartfelt journey of hope and determination throughout the play. Where Michael talks about escaping a religious cult, his uncle abusing him as a child and living with AIDS.

Father’s Day 2020, Michael puts out his normal Youtube call out, searching for his father, and a facebook message arrives out of the blue from a lady he doesn’t know. Life is about to change for him forever.

It’s a heart-warming tale with some large bumps along the way. However, life is sent to try us, and without them, the storyline would be less entertaining.

Michael is larger than life and clearly wears his heart on his sleeve. From the moment he begins his story, you are rooting for him to get the break he is desperately searching for. Such a likeable person and a wonderful stage presence, I wish him all the luck he deserves.
