Up The a(Rs)e is a new writing created and written by George Wigglesworth who also plays his character George in the play, who is a Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts Grad-year student. There are two other voices featured during the performance by Shaykai Suraweera and Che Walker.

It is directed by Indy Cambell, who is also a second year student at Mount View Academy of Theatre, and the original music score has been composed by Lewis Brennan.

George lives in two worlds, one of the football fans who goes to all home matches, which are preceded by a few hours in the pub afterwards with his footballmates. His second world takes place after the match, where George heads off on the London gay club scene without any of his football mates.

This is splitting George in two. The play is based around the night when the two worlds finally collide. The discoveries he makes may not be what he was hoping for, but it provides us with an insight into his life of football and gay clubs.

George puts on a very strong pasionate performance through the hour that he is on the stage. The stageing is very basic with just a Queens Park Rangers shirt and a stool. When we enter into the gay club, it is a coloured flashing light to resemble a club. The auidance clearly enjoyed the performance with a lot of laughter throughout the sell-out performance.

Im sure we will see a lot more George in the years to come through his writing and acting skills.
