Clary is a play about two flatmates and best friends who are different but sort of make the best of it. From petty to arguments, dodgy first dates, and lacking responsibility. At 25, they think they should be mature adults but are still swerving around growing up, especially when they are facing a life changing situation.
For anyone who remembers being in their twenties, there’s a lot of things that you can possibly recognise in this play. One of which is that you haven’t a clue what you are actually doing and are trying your best to get things right.
The performance bounces from one situation to another, and at times, it’s not always clear what they are discussing. Possibly reflecting the characters’ indecisive attitude to life and responsibility. They know what it should be like but just can’t quite get there, yet.
It’s a very typical have “a go play” that you find across the Edinburgh Fringe and a good way to try out new work and find their feet on the stage, all beit a small room in an Edinburgh building.
