All is Pink in West Berkshire County by Harry Daisley.

Well, where do you start?  All is Pink in West Berkshire County is a surreal family Christmas get-together comedy farce. Meat is banned and rations are scarce. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and people are making do with the small amounts available, but what happens when you get a “real” taste for it?

You would be forgiven for wondering if this was another take on the classic Dracula storyline when the cast first come onto the stage. The typical smart dinner suit attire is often associated with the famous Count.

Somewhere off the M4 in West Berkshire Denise and  Michael  Trumpington are married an eccentric couple of aristocrats pickled on the Christmas spirits ladened across the dinner table. Their daughter is bringing her new boyfriend home for the festive season much to the delight of her parents.

It’s a play purely performed to entertain, which is a refreshing change in a sea of heavy drama. Aireborne Theatre has mastered the art of comedy and finely timed deliveries. Laughter is in abundance throughout. Writer Harry Daisley certainly has a gift for the macabre and surreal that you can see through this production.

What play set at Christmas wouldn’t have a touch of pantomime thrown in? Just look out for the “Golden Goose” coming in to join the family festivities, there’s no Giant or Jack to be seen.
