Kevin Quantum returns to the Edinburgh Fringe 2023 with his show Momentum where he explains how and why he first started training in the art of magic and illusions from a scientific perspective. Performing a selection of his tricks to a full house in the Assembly Rooms this afternoon.

Magic and the art of illusions have wowed and drawn in audiences for many years. Just how do these magicians create a flower from a burning piece of paper, find a coin behind your ear and seemingly make things disappear right in front of your eyes?

There’s an art to these performances and I am always skeptical about whether I believe or not. However, yet again I have been left in awe of his performance and believing in magic or not isn’t important the skills and illusions Quantum delivers are impressive. A charismatic and personable performer who puts the participating audience members at ease.

The show encourages some audience participation to help with the tricks proving that the magic isn’t staged or prearranged with those taking part. Especially when performing with children as they are well known to “drop you in it” if it was previously set up before the show began.

If you’re considering going to see any “magic” performances this year then I would highly recommend Quantum as your show of choice.
