Blue Badge Bunch: ReRamped | Pleasance Theatre Trust

Benny Sparkles your host for the show has cerebal palsy and wants to share with the audience what many disabled people deal with on a daily basis, allowing you to understand how difficult it can be. He is supported onstage by Mark Nicholas, who is autistic and explains that he finds it awkward in social situations.

Through game show rounds ranging from making a sandwich one handed while being poked to drawing a picture of him with only using your toes. These are hurdles many face on a daily and adapt to overcome. One example he uses is an Indian Lady in India who paints using her feet, her paintings are becoming well-known.

He makes it very clear that he and many other disabled people don’t want our pity they want life adapted in the outside world to allow them to live their best lives. Surely thats not too much to ask!

Benny and Mark work together perfectly to raise important questions and issues. A likeable pair with an abundance of charm and humour, perfect advocates to help spread awareness of the hurdles and ignorance faced daily.

Benny plays the role of host brilliantly and I could easily have sat in his company and been entertained for another hour. His positive outlook and humour make him a positive advocate for those who deserve the right to live their best lives without judgement.
