TINK! A Festive Neverland Fairytale-The Point, Eastleigh.

TINK! A Festive Neverland Fairytale has taken the original JM Barrie children’s classic Peter Pan and retold the story through the eyes of Tinkerbell the fairy who was by Pan’s side during the original story.

Tink has long retired from her adventures in Neverland with the Lost Boys and is now living out her days in a hospital looking after younger Fairies and now goes by the name of Miriam (Liz Garland).

It is Christmas Eve and the excitement is growing. A gift is delivered to the hospital by a mysterious person. However, as the younger ones start to pry it materialises that Miriam was the famous fairy Tinkerbell and the questions come thick and fast.

Miriam gives in to the questions and the two younger Fairies settle in to hear all about Tinks adventures.

The story begins in the Darling children’s bedroom. Wendy (Madison Grace), Michael (Albany Britwhistle) and Jonathan (Henry Slowey) are about to go to bed when Peter Pan crashes into their room, frightening the children at first until he explains who he. With a splash of fairy dust, the trip to Neverland begins.

Jude Peters makes his debut professional performance as the mischievous Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up. He certainly gets into plenty of mischief.

David McCulloch casts quite a figure on stage in the role of Peter Pan’s archenemy Captain Hook. Although Nanny Croccy (Darcy Collins) still has control over Hook even though her job as his Nanny ended years ago.

Writer and Director Charlotte Cassey has created a lovely and different children’s production which tells the classic tale from another perspective. Blending puppetry into the storyline from the younger Tinkerbell fairy puppet to the enchanting silhouette puppets.

If you are looking for something slightly different for all the family to watch this year then head to The Point and catch TINK! A Festive Neverland Fairytale.
