Shlomo’s Beatbox Adventure For Kids offers a lesson in how you can learn to Beatbox using only four mouth movements and combining them to make fast-paced beatbox rhythms.
The history and origins of Beatbox are explained by SK Shlomo although they engage with the audience throughout to see who else knows anything about the history too and discuss how and why the genre became popular.
For an hour-long performance, there’s a lot packed into the performance. Shlomo’s Beatbox skills are superb and at times I thought there was a musical accompanying them on stage as the amount of music coming from Shlomo at once was incredible. I can fully understand why they have won so many awards, including two with the Guinness World Records.

Shlomo offers an engaging, informative and all-inclusive show. Making sure that all participants feel comfortable and are cheered on while on the stage and when they leave the stage. Championing mental health is also a big part of their ethos and they openly discuss mental health and the organisation CALM which they openly support.
This production engages with all ages and the adults in the auditorium were joining in with the Beatbox training along with the younger audience members. It was a shame that the auditorium wasn’t fuller though as Shlomo deserved a full house to Beatbox with. It’s definitely a show worth catching if it comes to a Theatre near you.
