Fractured Time has some fantastic plans for their play The Dying Wish beyond the Lambeth Fringe find out more in their interview below.
What was the inspiration behind your show?
Mauro, the author of The Dying Wish, told us that his inspiration came from hearing the song “Air” from Bach’s Suite No. 3 in D major, performed on the piano on the BBC radio. From that moment, he envisioned someone playing it as their final wish. That powerful image became the seed from which he developed all the other scenes, drawing on real-life events for authenticity.

Community Engagement:
Deliver workshops, Q&A sessions, and educational outreach focused on themes of suicide prevention, the justice system, and theatre-making.
Engage with schools, community organisations, and arts groups to deepen the show’s social impact.
What would you like audiences to take away from your show?
Reflection! A reflection on the world we live in, on our contradictions, the complexity of human behaviour, and the absurdities of life. Through a blend of laughter, dark humour, and deeply emotional, profound moments, The Dying Wish invites us to confront ourselves. It understands theatre not just as entertainment, but as a powerful tool for education and social change.
What are you looking forward to most about performing your show?
The audience’s reaction and comments afterwards! We love this play so much that we want to see how it resonates with the audiences. We also believe that this is a great indicator of how we will progress forward with our plans and what needs to be improved, as well as an understanding of what worked.
Why did you choose your particular Fringe venue?
The Golden Goose is an incredible theatre! It seats so many people, and we wanted to make sure we were reaching out to as many people as possible from the get-go. They are also very supportive and have been quick to answer all our questions and share our posts to help us advertise the work.
Which shows at the Fringe are you planning on watching?
In Plain Site
Sham
The Silence of Snow: The Life of Patrick Hamilton
A Poet Lost at Sea
Moth(er)
Have you had any major hurdles to overcome to get this production on the stage?
Yes, one of our biggest challenges has been operating on an extremely low budget. We’ve had no formal funding and are just at the beginning of our journey with this. It’s definitely been difficult, but we’re managing. We’re doing everything we can to secure funding while making the most of the resources we have. It’s a real testament to the team’s commitment and creativity that we’ve come this far.
On the other hand, we are very lucky to have with us people who truly believe in and are passionate about the project, from the writer, director, and producer to the cast and crew. This means a lot. Everyone is dedicating their time, work, and energy to bring this play to life. We are truly blessed and hugely thankful to everyone who is supporting us in every way.
What other productions have you previously been involved with?
This is actually our first production as a partnership under our theatre company. As individuals, we’ve been working in the industry for many years, but this project is particularly special and important to us. It marks the rebirth of our theatre company after being hit hard by the pandemic during our very first production, Dora versus Picasso. This new beginning carries a lot of meaning, and we’re proud to be building something fresh and resilient from that experience.
