Blackeyed Theatre returns to the stage this Autumn touring with their latest production and world premiere of Sherlock Holmes and the Hunt for Moriarty.

Arch nemesis of Sherlock Holmes,  Moriarty returns to force Dr Watson (Ben Owora) and Sherlock Holmes (Mark Knightley) to face past acquaintances in a race against time case.

Owora narrates the story about his friend Sherlock in one of the toughest cases the couple faced and at each turn, they uncover another person who isn’t who they appear to be and trust is put to the test.

With the series of mysterious events that Holmes and Watson faced throughout the case and the rare reappearance of Sherlock’s brother Mycroft played by Eliot Giuralacco. Will Sherlock end up paying the ultimate price in the name of “good” or will he be safe, as he pursues Moriarty to get the answers he needs and tries to solve the case?

Adapted by Nick Lane from the work of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes and the Hunt for Moriarty makes its world stage premiere offering audiences a haunting soundscape and an interchangeable stage design to follow the fast-paced hunt for the truth, ending potentially in “checkmate.”

Set designer Victoria Spearing created a fully interchangeable set where in one scene the cast are in the streets of London making their journey back to Baker Street and the next on a train heading out to look for answers to solve the case. Watching how easily the set can change and you’re transported somewhere else is all part of the fast-paced mystery.
