Stuck in the basement of a funeral director’s, sisters Shannon and Jodie feel trapped and bored. Aspirations of performing on X Factor are the only way they can see out of there, as singing at funerals is hardly a life-changing career.
The DeadMouse and Peabrain Dreams is a dark fast-paced comedy farce. Where things happen quickly. There’s a small amount of audience participation, especially when they celebrate the latest X Factor winner. This will change in every performance.
Jodie has the voice that has the power to change their future, all she needs to do is apply. The sisters live with their Dad after their Mum left to live abroad with a “Matteo” character like the one from the television comedy series Benidorm.
It’s a play for anyone who has lived in a dead-end village where your dreams feel like just out of reach and you are stuck with “what if” and a handful of dreams. Don’t wait for tomorrow, chase the dream and live for today. Just like the sisters Mum decided to do.
The DeadMouse and Peabrain Dreams offer a typical Fringe Theatre performance. Entertaining, funny and slightly out there as all good farces should be.
