Drama teacher Mark Row can’t be accused of having long summer holidays off taking it easy. The full run of The Edinburgh Fringe is not for the faint-hearted. Don’t You Know Who I Am?! With some returning audience members from 2024, I think some are starting to know.

Comedian Mark Row offers an insight into how he might deal with being famous one day and filling large arenas. It is good to aim high but I am not sure a packet of Penguin biscuits will help. If you know you know and if you don’t then it’s another good reason to go to one of Row’s shows.

Performing to a full house, well a full pub downstairs room near George Street in Edinburgh, with natural light too. I have seen plenty of well-known comedians performing in similar venues. A full house for any show at the Fringe is a positive achievement.

Row offers anecdotal and observational comedy. Bringing in some of his experiences from past comedy gigs. Good comedians will use the “comedy gold” moments that life offers them to you on a plate.

The fifteen minutes of fame quote by the artist Andy Warhol is set as a challenge for Row and he reads out a comedy sketch about how he views his fifteen minutes of fame will look like.

Row is likeable, funny, and doesn’t try to be crude for a few cheap laughs. It’s a well-thought-out set using some relatable situations to draw the audience in and laugh along with him. As with all comedy, there’s audience work involved in the set. However, the audience is never embarrassed or used to being the “butt” of a joke.
