Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe, The Listies arrive in Litle Angel Theatre. From the start this likeable duo from Australia, Rich and Matt, are loud and funny. Waving, saying hello to the children and ‘old folk’ they immediately establish a rapport with the audience.

Starting with the lists for which they are (apparently) well known they ask the children what instrument they play. Hands reach for the sky as each child wants to interact with the pair. I never knew face texting existed, but every day’s a school day, and I can now face text LOL, cow, poo and most importantly wow!

They know what works for their target audiences, so the show is full of burp, fart, and poo gags. There is a hilarious routine with Matt as a baby in a cot, with Rich playing a lullaby on an air guitar but baby wants Rap! Their timing is impeccable throughout especially in the disappearing banana scene.

A potential road trip has Matt behaving in a manner that will bring unpleasant memories to all parents. The trip is accompanied by audience participation, leaping up and down, leaning left and right, from the back it looked like a Mexican wave. They engage thrusters and they set off into space where Rich is the target of a surprise alien attack.

From the first moment until the end with their signature, toilet-paper cannons the audience was filled with smiling faces. There was no doubt that everyone enjoyed this crazy children’s entertainment, an hour flies past as they delight with their mad cap style and inventive panto style delivery.
