Cameron Murphy is an aspiring actor living in Los Angeles. Out of curiosity he decides to scroll through Tinder (other dating apps available) he swipes right on a mutual match with a lady from Belgium.
The couple embark on an intense 24-hour affair and Murphy admits that he fell head over heels in love within those 24 hours. So much so that he doesn’t want the relationship to end.
After a split decision, Murphy sells his prized possession and heads off to Belgium to follow his desires in the hope that his Belgium infatuation will become his happy ever after!
However, what happens next when Murphy arrives in Belgium is nothing compared to what he fantasised and everything around him becomes dangerously hot, especially the secret fantasies held by the love of his life in the bedroom. He wasn’t quite prepared to become “Daddy.”
The solo performance offers a passionate and intense storyline. Murphy is a talented and engaging performer. Using two coloured torches to light up his face to highlight when he is in conversation with someone and to heighten the intensity of the mood being constructed.
Director Paolo Laskero deserves a special mention as the play required an expert eye to endure it create the atmosphere and intensity that Role Play required to deliver the impact it does. Not a play for the faint-hearted but one to catch before the end of the Fringe.
