It’s Ok. We’ll Be Ok-Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

It’s Ok. We’ll Be Ok. By Alysia Orbell is A two-hander play about a twenty-something couple Matt and Jen who have just arrived home and start to discuss their days.

Once the conversation turns to “what shall we have for dinner,”  things turn frosty as Matt says he will not be there after the next three weeks and he will not be doing anymore food shopping for “them.”

Emotions run high as the audience learn that Matt has a job starting in London and has accepted it and is moving away from Edinburgh to start in three weeks’ time.

The couple at times are going around in circles with their emotions and thought processes. However, this is a realistic depiction when you’re facing a life-changing decision as you can’t see into the future. With so many paths this situation can take all the options and scenarios come into the conversations.

Looking at the statistics about long-distance relationships they have a good chance of making work “While challenging, many long-distance relationships do succeed. Studies suggest that around 60% of long-distance relationships make it past the initial phase and into a geographically closer relationship.” Although from personal experience relationships don’t often move forward by stepping back.

The intimate space in the Greenside studio felt like the audience was in their living room area with them, which at times could feel uncomfortable.
