Agadez and Antonio Forcione: Queendoms Unplugged offers an incredible tribal music experience at the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe in the Assembly Roxy Venue. The music moves through you as it weaves through the auditorium in a celebration of female empowerment spanning through the ages.
Queendoms is billed as a journey into the archaic female cults that followed the primordial one of the Mother Goddess. The set consists of ten goddess pieces from Tanit, Beira to Ecate.
The cult and mystery that surrounds all of the Goddesses featured in Queendoms have crossed over in all civilisations. They are often viewed as a single figure of beauty and admiration that has changed shape through the centuries. Each one placed into the movement all to the rhythm of sacred drums used on the stage to celebrate their story.
Each of the songs is written with each goddess in mind and dedicated to each of the ten goddesses. The music is performed to evoke the world in which she inhabited, invoking her given powers and channelling them through the instruments and verse into the auditorium.
It’s one of the most organic music experiences I have ever watched/felt in equal measure. There’s an atmosphere and feelings of passion and tenderness from the instant the performance begins and continues right to the end.
I defy anyone not to be moved by this amazing music production.
