Laurence Saunders-Improv Wolves-Edinburgh Fringe.

The Improv Wolves pack of comedians are heading to the Edinburgh Fringe. Laurence Suanders  has taken some time out to chat to me ahead of their arrival on August 12th.

What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?

Improv Wolves.

It’s called this because we improvise, and because Rob, the leader of our pack, was found as a small hairy child on Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the West Midlands. The theory goes he’d been abandoned as a tiny baby and raised by wolves.

How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?

15 minutes.

How do you cope with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?

Lemsip.

What sort of shows will see if you have time?

All of the good ones. And some of the bad ones.

Have you performed at any other Fringes? If so which has been your favourite so far?

The Rik Mayall Comedy Festival, Bath Fringe, Leicester Comedy Festival, Guildford Fringe, Birmingham Comedy Festival – we’ve done lots. They’re all great, but it was nice to be asked to do the inaugural Rik Mayall Comedy Festival. We believe Rik himself called for us from beyond the grave.

Any advice to newbies about flyering?

Cover them in Superglue, don’t take no for an answer and your acceleration over the first five yards is the most important thing. (Please don’t try this at home!)

What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?

We subscribe to the idea that life is what happens while you’re busy making plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe.
