Todd Twining-Edinburgh Fringe 2025-Part of July Challenge.

Todd Twining has spoken to me about the show The Idiots Guie to Breaking your own Heart which premieres at the Edinburgh Fringe this year and the sad back story behind it.

Where did the inspiration or ideas come from for your show/production?

It was written by Paul Andrew Perez, who tragically passed away while writing the show.

This work represents so much of who Paul was and is being performed in his honour. He absolutely loved the Fringe Festival and was a veteran director many times as he brought shows there.

He was so excited to show me as his co-director the whole Fringe experience and although this is my first time and I feel a bit scattered and lost without him, the cast and I are determined for the show to go on.

Paul and I discussed many times the pressures teenagers feel in life and this show addresses that.

What do you plan on doing to relax and get some “time out” during the Fringe?

Since we are here for our first adventure, we plan to just take as much in as we are able.

In one sentence why should someone come to see your show?

No matter what age, all of us can identify with the stressors and pressures that seem to come at us in life.

The dialogue and songs in this show speak directly to the heart and move us to laughter, tears, and a resolve that although we live in a pressure cooker of a world, life is worth living, you matter, and what you do matters.
