Madelaine Nunn-Edinburgh Fringe 2025-Part of July Challenge.

Today’s pick of interviews has found me catching up with the award-winning writer/performer, Madelaine Nunn. About her play Flick which is about to make its home on the Summerhall stage at the Edinburgh Fringe.

FLICK

1st -25th August (not 11th, 18th), Red Lecture Theatre, Summerhall, @ 16:45 (60 min)

What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?

FLICK by Madelaine Nunn

How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?

This is my first time! I’m an Edinburgh Fringe virgin! I’ve done the Melbourne Fringe and the Adelaide Fringe so if it’s anything like that then I’m pumped!

How do you plan on coping with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?

I’m going to do yoga everyday (fingers crossed)! If I get stressed I’m going to remind myself to breathe deep into my stomach and relax my shoulders. Eat!!! When I get busy I forget to eat and then I get hangry and stressed. I’m like ‘what’s going on???’ But food is always the answer, it’s delicious and stops you getting sick!

What sort of shows will you see if you have time?

I want to see a range of shows, theatre, comedy, circus, dance.  I want to see all the shows at Summerhall as well as Skinny, Orpheus and Eurydice, Triptych Redux, Ten Thousand Hours.

So many!!

Have you performed at any other Fringe’s? If so, which has been your favourite so far?

I’ve performed at the Melbourne Fringe and the Adelaide Fringe. The Adelaide Fringe is wild! The whole city comes alive and it’s like one big party. It’s also super easy to get around so you can see so many different shows at so many different venues.

How do you plan on tackling flyering?

I’ve never flyered myself but I’ve heard that you need to care about your show and make friends with the people you’re flyering to. I’m going to try and get some branded hats and t-shirts!

What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?

I have another performance of FLICK slated for USA but I can’t talk about that yet… hopefully lots of UK and European theatres will come and see the work so FLICK will tour around the world! Fingers crossed!
