Keiran Bullock-Edinburgh Fringe 2025-Part of July Challenge.

IKEA WARS is an intriguing name for an Edinburgh Fringe show. I caught up with Keiran Bullock to find out more.

What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?

IKEA WARS

How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?

This is my first time! I’m excited and terrified in equal measure.

How do you cope with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?

Well it’s my first Edinburgh Fringe, but not my first Fringe festival. I’m a veteran of the Australian Fringe circuit, so I’ll probably do the same things I do in Australia. I like to get into a routine, and make sure I’m enjoying the experience of being in whatever town I’m in. Tasting the local food and drink, and doing a bit of sightseeing. It’s important to recharge your battery each day and know how much the stress of performing is going to take out of you. Find that balance, and you’ll get through it!

What sort of shows will see if you have time?

I’ve always loved British comedy, so hopefully I’ll have time to catch some of my favourite performers. There’s almost too many to name. When I get to Edinburgh I’ll leaf through the guide and try and put together a plan.

Have you performed at any other Fringe’s? If so which has been your favourite so far?

I think Adelaide is tremendous. Its status as the second-biggest Fringe in the world is richly deserved. The Garden and Gluttony precincts are particularly magical, and the weather is always excellent. And the trip from Melbourne is much easier than coming to the UK!

Any advice to newbies about flyering?

I’d say do it in short bursts – five to ten minutes at a time is great, then take a little break. Have some water, maybe a little snack, then go back in again. If you’ve got a costume from your show, wear it! And get your pitch down to a short punchy sentence that you can just repeat. Once you’re in the rhythm and having fun you’ll be surprised how many people will take a flyer.

What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?

I’ll take it back to Australia and gear up for the 2026 Fringe season. Registrations will open up for that soon. Hopefully a successful Edinburgh season will give the show a much-needed boost ahead of the new year.
