Texas-born Stacie Burrows returns to the Edinburgh Fringe this year with her new show. I caught up with her to find out more.

What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?

No Good Drunk

How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?

This will be my third show. I took a dark comedy solo show called Bulletproof Unicorn in 2022 and a solo musical comedy called Laughable in 2024.

How do you cope with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?

 Sleep. Hydrate. Put on headphones and take long walks away from the maddening crowds.

What sort of shows will see if you have time?

I will absolutely make time to see as many shows as I can. I love clown shows, comedy, and musicals. I prefer original work. I tend towards smaller, independent productions, the kinds of things you just cannot see anywhere else in the world.

Have you performed at any other Fringe’s?

I have taken two shows to the Hollywood Fringe. I live in Los Angeles, so that’s a fairly easy commitment. I use it as a workshop to refine my EdFringe show and meet fellow artists before I get to Scotland.

If so which has been your favourite so far?

Edinburgh Festival Fringe, by far, has been my favourite. It really attracts so many different types of artists from all over the world. There is a sense of camaraderie amongst the masochists who do full runs. I live for this and I love meeting other who do, too.

Any advice to newbies about flyering?

Absolutely! Try to engage your audience – you know who you audience is. Flyer them specifically and try to strike up a conversation or a funny/interesting line to draw them to you. Quality over quantity is best. Never leave the house without your flyers. You never know when you’ll need to pitch a punter.

What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?

I am hoping that No Good Drunk enjoys a life beyond the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I’d love to return to the UK for a post-Fringe tour. I will also continue to perform No Good Drunk in the US.
