The Flying Bubble show will be at the Underbelly Circus Hub The Beauty at 3.10pm for the entire fringe for tickets go to www.edfringe.com
Have you performed at the Edinburgh Fringe before?
Yes, I have, but I came with just my solo show, not The Flying Bubble Show. At the time, the flying show had debuted after the Edinburgh registration. I knew that if I wanted to bring it to Edinburgh, I’d first need to do other Fringes, especially Adelaide. My goal was to prove that the flying show was strong enough to get into the Underbelly.
And that’s exactly what happened. We went to Adelaide Fringe, had an incredible run, and the Underbelly team came to see the show and they wanted it. The first time I came to Edinburgh as a performer, I already had that vision: that the flying show was the one I really wanted to bring here. I used that year as a recon mission—scouting venues, watching shows, getting a feel for how the festival works. I remember going to a 3:10pm show at the Circus Hub and thinking, “This is actually a great slot.”
And then, the next year, we got the offer for that exact slot, in that exact venue. It was amazing. Exactly as I had hoped.

What was the name of your previous show?
The Bubble Whisperer.

How long has your current show been running for?
At this point in May, it’s a year old. It was a very quick development—four months from concept to stage. We started with Brighton Fringe 2024, then went on to do Sydney Fringe and Adelaide Fringe. The show has progressed faster than any production I’ve worked on. I think it’s because of the natural pairing of aerial and bubbles—they both belong in the air. And also, the show is really good. It developed at a rapid rate. Now we’re performing in the Circus Hub at Underbelly, which is an amazing platform.

Do you have any “good luck” rituals you undertake before performing?
Yes, I do. I have some mantras I say to myself, breathing exercises, and a little mind space I go into. It’s a personal practice, so I won’t share all the details, but it’s a really good space for me to drop into before a show.

How have you found booking accommodation this year?
Yes . I’ve lived in the UK for ten years and I found my accommodation through friends in the circus community .

What three pieces of advice would you give to first-timers going to the Fringe?
First—remember it’s a marathon. If you’re doing a full run, it’s a test of endurance . It easy to lose heart with a bad turn out for your first shows. Remembering its a marathon keeps me motivated when things don’t look as I hoped.
Second—go watch shows. It’s easy to get lost in your own race, but it’s really good to go see other shows and socialise with other artists.
Third—go to nature. Walk up Arthur’s Seat. It happens to me every time—I need to get out of the buzz of the Fringe, get my head clear, and ground myself. Marketing and everything else can feel never-ending, and going to the top of that mountain helps give perspective.

What are your plans after the Edinburgh Fringe is over?
After the Fringe, we’ll pack down and change over our equipment for the Australia tour. We’ll be in Sydney a week later, beginning another full run of shows, then continue to other parts of the world. The show goes on.
