When were you last performing at the Edinburgh Fringe?
2018
What was the name of your previous show?
Bonqrz – It was a wip and it was a few years ago, All I remember was that I put my head in a budgie cage. The show was created when I started thinking it wouldn’t be funny if I put my head inside a budgie cage and pretend to be a budgie. It’s the doing part that makes me cringe and sometimes when we imagine things it’s better off left inside your head.
How long has your current show been running?
Year and a bit.
Do you have any “good luck” rituals you undertake before performing?
Eating chocolate going over my stuff and trying not to have a panic attack.
How have you found booking accommodation this year?
I’m not staying in accommodation because they’re asking for people’s life savings. I cannot believe how fringe season asks for an arm and a leg for just three weeks playing into performers’ egos of their dreams of fame. Anyway, I’m staying in a tent this year. I regret all of this because I’m overworking just to make sure I go there to represent my demographic and keep performing. I think gambling addicts have a better chance of making their money back.
What three pieces of advice would you give to first-timers going to the Fringe?
Barter and don’t waste money.
Make time for yourself
Know why you are going there otherwise don’t bother.
