Apocalypse Cabaret: Songs From The End Of The World-Edinburgh Fringe 2025-Part of July Challenge.

Is this your first time at Edinburgh Fringe?

I went many years ago to the Free Fringe, but this is my first time as a big girl going to the big girl festival.

How long have you been preparing your show for Edinburgh?

This show has been around for about two years in different iterations. The first version of this actual show premiered in March in Walla Walla, WA, and is now being workshopped in NYC and LA on its way to Scotland.

What is your motivation to perform there?

I spent the last two years working on a circus contract with Speigelworld after about a decade of working in film and TV in LA. I had been doing a lot of stand-up and one-off performances, but doing that long contract made me re-fall in love with the world of live performance. I’m hop[ign ot use Edinburgh as a platform to promote this show, and myself as a writer and performer in the cabaret/theater/circus world.

What have you done to prepare for the Edinburgh Fringe, emotionally and Physically?

Physically, it’s a lot of vocal strengthening. It takes the ol cords a while to get into fighting shape, and singing for an hour every night for three weeks in a row is pretty close to an Olympic sport. I’m also stretching a ton because wearing heels every night messes up my hip flexors. And honestly, just trying to keep up with everything is giving me a run for my money.

Emotionally I’m trying to manifest hot international lesbians to hopefully make out with at odd hours of the night.

Have you had any advice from other’s who have performed at the Fringe?

My co-host at the Spiegelworld show, Phil Nichol, very wisely told me: “If you find yourself in a loud bar talking full volume, extract yourself for the situation.” He also told me to “pace myself” which I think is really excellent advice.

Have you visited Scotland or Edinburgh before?

Once! And one of my dearest friends is from Fife, so I am excited to take it all in.

How have you found booking accommodation?

The friends I was going to stay with rudely broke up after a decade together, so I am back on the market looking for a plce to hang my hat.

What plans do you have for your show after the Edinburgh Fringe is over?

I will put it up in NYC and LA, which are the two cities in which I live. And then I hope to go out in my van and travel to smaller cities to put it up where I can. I love nomad life, and am excited to combine it with show life.
