Henning Nilsen & Valeria Vulpe present-1 and None-Edinburgh Fringe 2025 part of July Challenge.

Double-bill comedians Henning Nilsen and Valeria Vulpe are bringing their show to Just the Tonic at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025. I’ve caught up with them before they head off to Edinburgh.

What’s your show called for Edinburgh Fringe 2025?

1 And Done. It’s a split-bill standup show with Norwegian comedian Henning Nilsen and Moldovan comedian Valeria Vulpe. Henning is currently living in Manchester in the UK and Valeria in New York City

How long have you been doing the Edinburgh Fringe?

Henning: This will be my third year at the Fringe. The previous years I only went to study, watch shows and perform on compilation shows, so 2025 is my first year of doing a show myself
Valeria: This will be my second Fringe, and it’s also the first time doing my own show.

How do you cope with the overwhelming chaos that the Fringe brings?

Henning: By having been before and knowing what to expect. I know where many of the venues are now, have performed in many of the rooms before and know that the Fringe is a marathon with many highs and lows along the way.

What sort of shows will see if you have time?

Henning: I think there will be less time to see shows this year, but if some of my favourites from previous years return, I will make sure to catch them.
Valeria: Comedy, Theater, Improv.

Have you performed at any other Fringe’s? If so which has been your favourite so far?

Valeria: Just Edinburgh Fringe, not been to any other
Henning: I’ve only been to Brighton Fringe three years in a row. Would love to go to Australia and perform for some of the Fringe’s down under at some point though.

Any advice to newbies about flyering?

Henning: Don’t take it personal if somebody rejects your flyer or doesn’t want to speak with you, there’s a lot of artists out flyering so it can be too much to take in for audience members as well.

What are your plans for the show after the Edinburgh Fringe?

We might take the show to some other Fringe festivals or comedy clubs around the UK, but perhaps the biggest plan is to expand and improve on our halves so we can come back next year and do a full-hour solo show.
