Shout Out For Local Comedic Talent Wanted by Theatre Royal Winchester.
Playmakers – the creative learning and community engagement branch of the arts and education charity, Play to the Crowd – is looking for local stand-up comedians and comic singers, musicians, and poets for a new showcase.
Playmakers’ next local talent night, the Locally Grown Laughs Talent Night, will showcase local comedic talent and take place at Theatre Royal Winchester on Wednesday 10 September, with the audience seated cabaret-style on stage for a relaxed, intimate setting.
The application process is now open; the closing date for applications is Friday, 18 July at noon. For more information and the online application form, please visit https://playmakers.org.uk/news/showcase-your-funny-side and email any questions to Playmakers’ Engagement Producer, Hannah Jones, at hannah.j@playtothecrowd.co.uk
Hannah said: ‘I’m looking forward to our new comedy talent night and hearing from all the local stand-up comedians and comic artists who apply to be a part of it. I think because we’re asking for other comedic artists to take part – singers, musicians and poets – as well as stand-ups, we should see a real mix of work and I’m hoping that everyone who comes to the show – the audience and the artists – go away with a big smile on their face!’
