Winchester Theatre Royal have launched their new cinema screening events. Opening up the Theatre to offer big screen showings of films that have long since left the cinemas but are still popular to audiences of all ages.
Today, about thirty audience members attended the first event where the classic film screening was Singing in the Rain. I have to admit that although I have been aware of the songs from the film, I had never actually watched it for the full duration and I can now truly understand how Gene Kelly was such a popular actor during his acting career.

Some films deserve to be seen again on the big screen, like Dirty Dancing and the original Matilda starring Danny Devito, which are planned to be screened in June 2025. Who doesn’t want to watch the late Patrick Swayze in action or Baby “carry a watermelon”.
The screenings planned offer theatre goers a range of films which are planned to be shown at different times depending on their target audiences.
If you are in charge of a care home, community group, social clubs, or anything similar, these screenings offer a great activity outing that will not break the bank and can offer a comfortable seat to enjoy the film in.

The idea and concept for this new venture deserves to be successful and would be an excellent way to bring strangers together who become friends through the shared love of films. Plus you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome from the front of house team.
