Sisters 360, written by Asif Khan, is the story of two hijab wearing stepsisters from a merged Somali-Stani background living in Bradford. Their parents met when they were four and they have been best friends ever since.
Their hero is skateboarding legend Sky Brown who won the Olympics in 2020 aged 13 and they plan to emulate her success starting with winning the Tiny is Mighty skateboarding competition
Life is about to change though as their parents split up and Fatima and her mother are headed for London.
Big scary London where the many times great grandson of the head chopping King Henry V11 is on the throne; where people live Underground and there is a Big Brother London Eye watching over you. How will they practice for the competition?

While the setting revolves around skateboarding, the story primarily explores the enduring nature of friendship and its ability to withstand the challenges posed by a long-distance relationship.
Salima (Farah Ashraf) and Fatima (Sara Abanur) portray the 10 years old effectively and bring a bright, youthful energy to the stage. Their portrayal of skateboarding using the set was credible.
The production is intended for ages 8 – 12 but the audience on the day was mostly younger. Initially the children were engaged and clapped along but lost interest during a very witty and clever rap which left only the adults chuckling. Using the father’s interest in bats a multi coloured bat puppet is produced to help the story along and engage with the younger children.
A chance to engage with the audience towards the end falls flat as none of the children respond. Because the audience were generally younger than suggested it was difficult to gauge how it would be perceived by its target audience.

However, I feel that this production may not cater for the full age range as the rap section may be too complex for the youngest and the puppet segment may seem too juvenile for the oldest.
3 Stars.
