Say It Again, Sorry? Are billed as “the show that makes you a star” and it doesn’t fail to deliver. Every chosen member of the audience is picked at random, meaning that nobody including the director Simon Slough has any idea of which direction the hilarious comedy production of Earnest is about to take or how willing the participant will be.
Earnest is based on the original novel The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde fans of the original text will recognise the characters and storyline and see a different angle to the famous play.
Every single member of the “audience cast” was the star of the show this evening. From the slightly awkward and stage-shy Earnest to the impressive Gwendolin who gave a fantastic performance and had a very impressive German accent. The entire audience cast was fantastic sports and will never forget their night on stage in Southampton.

Rhys Tees in the role of Graham deserves a special mention. He plays various characters throughout the performance and he dashes from one side of the stage to the other and into the auditorium during act three.
It is one of those fast-paced comedy productions that you can see numerous times as it promises to be different everytime. Although the 11-year-old piano player who performed this evening was incredible and has a promising career ahead of him. There is so much action on and off the stage that you’re never quite sure what will happen next.
A definite must-see production that is currently on tour and “eagerly awaiting” a West End run. I can see this production by Say it Again, Sorry! Could have a similar following and stage life that the Improvisation troup Showstoppers enjoy.
