Entering the prestigious auditorium of The Royal Albert Hall is always a pleasure and you become part of the venue’s rich and varied history. There was a festive warmth and glow awaiting the audience with two giant Christmas Trees on either side of the hall organ at the staged area of the RAH.

The evening was opened by a hugely talented up-and-coming artist Persia Holder. A name to look out for in the future. Holder sang a few original tracks that she had written and recorded. A very good choice by Jamie Cullum as a support artist.

Jazz musician Cullum kicked off the 2024 Christmas concert season supported by a fantastic band. A flawless two-hour music session which raised the roof on the RAH.

What a wonderful start to the festive season as Cullum rolled out many favourite songs from his Christmas collection “Hang The Lights”, “So Many Santas” and “The Jolly Fat Man” which proved to be favourites by the audience’s response and all the strings of lights around the auditorium bought in the by the audience lit up The Royal Albert Hall. It’s quite an experience.

Cullum is a natural entertainer and wins the audience over instantly with his charming personality. The RAH was at full capacity and he had “everyone” in the palm of his hand. Each time he asked the audience to join in they obliged immediately from dancing to singing along.

The original album was released in November 2020 which Cullum called Pianoman at Christmas after his with Sophie Dahl encouraged him to write it. What a wonderful collection of Christmas songs they are.
