Lambeth Fringe 2024.

Lambeth Fringe formally known as Clapham Fringe opened its doors on September 19th 2024 and will be running for a full month. Read up on what some of the venues have in store this year.

Bread and Roses:

As the founding venue, The Bread & Roses Theatre are bringing you a whopping 56 shows! We’re kicking off the festival with The Platform, our legendary new writing night that was the original project that launched the theatre. Work is taken from our in-house Playwrights Circle where fresh talent meets bold storytelling, with brand-new short plays and monologues. Other highlights include the whimsical world of The Pirate Bookshop, a family show where pirates help save a struggling bookshop, The William Blake Mixtape, a Lambeth-based hip-hop twist on classic poetry, and Don’t Let Me Die Before Sunday, a witty dive into the chaos of anxiety. There is something for everyone.

You can join us for the Lambeth Fringe Launch Party on September 7th downstairs at The Bread & Roses Pub – your chance to mingle with artists, grab a drink on us, and dance the night away to live DJs. We’re talking burlesque performances, live music, and big party vibes to kick off the festival in style!

Plus, enjoy a 15% discount on drinks if you’re a student, teacher, NHS staff, or union member, and don’t miss the pub’s weekly open mics, quizzes, and live music sessions. There’s also a newly covered garden area, perfect for those pre- and post-show hangouts.

While our schedule is packed, we’re always on the lookout for new shows, so if you’re itching to perform, drop us a line – we might just find a spot for you. We’re looking forward to the fringe magic and can’t wait to share it with you!

Golden Goose:

The Golden Goose is an accessible 80-seat theatre with a dedicated theatre bar, all on ground floor level. It is just a seven-minute walk from Oval tube station. We love to champion new writing and supporting new artists and pride ourselves in being an inclusive, welcoming space. We are delighted to be hosting ten shows for this year’s Lambeth Fringe as part of our ethos for supporting new works. Highlights of the season include Defective Inspector, Love Bonnie & Clyde, and Black Diamonds: Stealing the Show.

The Glitch:

We’re so excited to be a part of the Lambeth Fringe this year – we’re hosting over 20 shows ranging from stand-up to drama and music, so it’s going to be an actioned pack month. At The Glitch, audiences can expect an exciting night out – on most evenings, we’ve got events and live music in the main bar after the show, as well as a range of seasonal cocktails and drinks. We’ll also be usually hosting multiple shows on any given evening, so there is lots to do here! We’ve still got a few slots available as well, and we’d be really excited to add even more shows to the Fringe roster, so get in touch if you’re still thinking about bringing a show!

Central Film School:

Central Film School is delighted to host a variety of shows for this year’s Lambeth Fringe. One of our standout highlights is a student-led production of Joel Horwood’s play This Changes Everything, which explores the creation of a new matriarchal society on a disused oil derrick at sea.
We are also welcoming several out-of-house productions, including the dance performance United Steps, a dystopian dark comedy with a theatrical twist in Hello Box Office, and a whimsical new musical about the joys of mental health struggles in Thanks for Not Putting Your Head in the Loo (and other OCD love stories).

Housed in a former 19th-century music hall near Clapham High Street, our doors are open to the local community, and we are thrilled to welcome everyone to enjoy an evening of new writing and performance with us.
