Olivia Ruggiero presents Broadway Diva in The Stage Door Theatre in Drury Lane. Bringing a selection of well-known musical numbers to the stage from popular West End Musicals for example Les Misérables, The King and I, and Phantom of the Opera to name but a few. Ruggiero is trained in musical and Opera singing and we get a taster of her musical talents throughout the show.
The performance encompasses songs and musicals that have influenced Ruggiero’s personal journey from being a child who was in awe of the bright lights of the stage and theatre to her now performing and becoming part of the magic. She talks fondly of the family members who accompanied her along the path.
Pianist James Hall accompanies Ruggiero throughout the show. The couple have a well-timed rapport on stage with some additional banter during a couple of sections which adds a touch of comedy.

Ruggiero looks stunning throughout the show with one costume change. Look out for the Dorothy-style sparkling shoes hiding up her dresses. Maybe if she taps her heels together hard enough we will set off to the Land of Oz!
During the second act the audience vote to decide one of the songs Ruggiero will perform. It’s from a multiple choice of around five songs. However, she seemed very pleased with the audience choice on that evening.
Broadway Diva is a 90-minute treat for audiences to hear some wonderful West End numbers whether you are a novice or an expert there’s something tucked away in the show for all. My personal favourite is anything by Barbara Streisand who I’ve admired for many years.
