Fans of Kate Bush are unlikely to ever see the singer return to the stage. However, there is a selection of tribute acts who perform across the country. An Evening Without Kate Bush is one of those performances which contains popular Bush songs, iconic Wigs and costumes. Plus the six dance moves that run through her original music videos.

Sarah-Louise Young has created a funny and beautiful tribute celebration show about the life and music of Kate Bush. Using original songs and lyrics to fit her personalised narrative of the show to bring the myths and mystery to life.

The famous Russian song by Bush, Babooshka is regularly mispronounced after meeting a Russian Man she learned how to pronounce it properly and passed this on to the audience. We were asked to sing it back to her correctly pronouncing Ba-boosh-ka phonetically.

There’s a fair amount of audience participation. Young puts those participating at ease and always asks for their consent first. The backing singers she chose for this performance rose to the occasion and appeared to be having a great time on stage. From the auditorium response joining in with some of the musical hits went down very well. Young had the audience in the palm of her hands.

An Evening Without Kare Bush combines karaoke, cabaret, and storytelling. Young reiterates throughout the evening that she isn’t Kate Bush and doesn’t try to be. The show is written and performed to share her love of the artist and explains that she shares the audience’s admiration of the “Bush” and her successful groundbreaking music career.
