Lindsay Lucas-Bartlett takes the audience on a rollercoaster journey through her lived experiences of life growing up in Essex as a stereotypical blonde in Trust Me, I’m From Essex. However, it soon becomes clear Lindsay isn’t anything like the “dumb blonde” stereotype.
Homelife was tough for Lindsay, where she often witnessed violence at home, the damage caused by drug addiction (not Lindsay’s), and daily bullying at the Catholic all-girls school she attended.
However, determination drives her onwards and she moves to London to go to University. Life is challenging there and she is subjected to a “date rape” assault at an exclusive party where the details are blurred. She isn’t sure how but she finished her Master’s degree and moved away.
The journey to where she is now living in Los Angeles, married and accepted by the extended family there who she lovingly refers to as the “Brady Bunch” and has created a new home and life she wanted and deserved.
Enjoy this “bucket list” fun-filled journey where Lindsay uses laughter, singing, and monologues to take centre stage. It’s hard not to be charmed by her honesty and charisma. The life she knew growing up was the drive she needed to change her destiny for the better.
