Good Boy looks very young for his age, almost childlike and this attracts a certain type of man in the community where Boy is starting to explore. Wide-eyed and naive yet desperately wanting to belong and find romance. Good Boy is a powerful play delving into a world of sex, submission, and the darker side of the Internet.

Boy discovers the joys of sex, in so much as he has the role of being bottom and submissive without questioning. Although this requires learning to shave the area. Who knew there was online tutorials showing step by step instructions of how to do it and how to take care of the area afterwards to ensure it doesn’t become infected.

Farley’s performance (with clothes on) into how the required position can be achieved is hilarious. Fighting to find the correct angle to have a clear view when using the mirror to shave takes plenty of practice and some interesting positions.

Everyone remembers their first “love” Boy is no different and believes he has to play the role that this man who is his first kiss, date, and first proper boyfriend has set out for him and no matter what Boy desires he accepts his role in the relationship to keep the man who “loves” him happy.

However, after logging into the boyfriend’s tablet he wants to look at the porn history tab to get an insight into what “turns him on” What he discovers sickens the Boy and he cannot watch or remain in a relationship with the man. Who would?

The discovery and hurt that Boy feels after the break-up leads him to seek out validation from other men and to feel desired for who he is. However, this isn’t what he discovers and finds himself in dangerous and potentially life-threatening situations all because he looks like a Boy!

The entire story of Boy is verbatim and Farley’s personal experiences. The play has teamed up with SurvivorsUK an organisation that provides support to men, boys, and non-binary people aged 13+ who have experienced sexual violence.
