Seven years ago Drag artist Sasha Velour won the prestigious competition Ru Paul’s Drag Race. Since winning the title Velour’s career has continued to grow and is a huge household name in the Drag industry and from tonight’s performance I can fully understand why. Although Sasha admits that she wasn’t expecting to still be going strong now.
The mixture of Drag history features famous figures who partook in the art of Drag as it was depicted during their generation. Sasha fondly recalls how as a child he was actively encouraged by both of his Grandmother’s to participate in the world of being on stage and free to dress up in anything you feel comfortable in. What a liberating environment to grow up in!
The audience is privileged to be shown the filmed recording of Velour’s first stage debut as a young child where he dramatically throws himself to the ground in his final dying moments. A beautiful memory to share with strangers.

Chiyo a leading Drag Male artist was the evening’s star guest who wowed the auditorium with an exhilarating solo performance. Each show on the tour will feature a big name in the Drag industry to support Sasha on the tour.
The Big Reveal is a high-energy, informative celebration about the importance of accepting who you are and learning to love yourself. The show blends Drag, music and visual art forms to entertain and inform audiences during the two-hour show. I came away feeling that Sasha Velour still has plenty of new material to come in the future.
