In 1998 newspaper columnist Candace Bushnell broke through into television with a new series adapted from her regular column called Sex and the City which was aired on HBO and created by Darren Star. Candace Bushnell-True Tales of Sex, Success, and Sex and the City is now taking her Success story on tour to share with audiences her story and comparisons between her life and the books.

The television programme was headlined by New York-based actor Sarah Jessica Parker, taking the character Carrie Bradshaw and her three close friends Samantha Jones, Catherine York and Miranda Hobbes on a journey into the world of work and dating in a City where anything is possible.

Carrie creates an honest look into the life of a columnist navigating her way through romantic relationships, friendships and the ups and downs of living as an independent woman. The highs and lows of her experiences will be relatable to anyone living and working in a large city.

Bushnell speaks openly about her failed marriages which I am sure a huge majority of her audience can relate to. The feelings of failure and jubilation as life takes on new paths when you’re least expecting it. She takes you back to where it all started. The name-dropping of branded high-end fashionable shoes is completely lost on me as anything that look that uncomfortable is of no interest to me.

However, if you are hoping for any major gossip disclosures you might feel let down. If you are interested in the lady behind the success then you will be in for a treat. The series ran for 96 episodes and gathered a huge following during its run, I suspect the tour will be extremely popular as this is a must-see show for fans of the programme, books and films.
