The new touring jukebox musical I Should Be So Lucky features Kylie Minogue as the empowering reflection in the mirror. The story is based around Ella (Lucie-Mae Sumner) who is jilted at the alter by Nathan (Billy Roberts) for no apparent reason. Although this becomes clear at the end.
Ella is persuaded by her Nan, Ivy (Jemma Churchill) to continue with her plans to go on honeymoon and many of her side of the family decide to join them as well and party to help her to get over it.

Spencer (Jamie Chapman) is in charge of the holiday resort and is going to make sure that she has a trip of a lifetime with the help of his staff. Where pink hearts and flowers are in abundance, just what Ella needs to be reminded of nursing a broken heart!
The storyline is fairly predictable and easy to follow, with a few twists all crammed in at the end time to tie up loose ends you didn’t know were there. There are plenty of comedy and farcical moments throughout the musical which went down well with the audience.

The Musical offers a range of well-known songs from the Stock, Aitken and Waterman classics from the 1990s. Plenty of Kylie classics for a reminiscing trip down memory lane for the Kylie fans in the auditorium. With hits like Too Many Broken Hearts, Especially For You and RESPECTABLE performed during the evening.
Characters Michael (Scott Paige) and Bonnie (Kayla Carter) give superb performances. Especially Bonnie in the first act when she delivered an incredible moving solo performance which was met with rapturous applause.

This touring production I predict will be met by divided audiences, Who will love it or hate it? For more information on this musical and future productions at New Wimbledon Theatre please use the link below.
