Fabulous front room comedy with a cup of tea and biscuit. Joshua Welch’s comedy Wildcat’s Last Waltz takes you into the world of married couple Wildcat’s of Sheffield and Geoffrey. Life hasn’t been without its challenges yet they worked hard to pull through it together.
Who knew dusting was funny? Imagine crossing the late Mrs Merton (Caroline Ahearne) Lily Savage (Paul O’Grady) and a dash of Victoria Wood humour and Wildcat’s is created. The bittersweet relationship between her and her late mother-in-law started over the dust!
Wildcat’s mother-in-law expressed that the standards of the couple’s home weren’t up to the level her son was used to. Leaving Wildcat’s believing that her house was never up to standard if she didn’t dust every day! So here she is dusting the table that once belonged to her in-laws.
Wildcat’s takes an honest look back on the couple’s marriage, her rather “wild” youth which her nickname derived from, relationships, motherhood and the downside to ageing. Delivered with her fabulous sharp wit and perfect delivery.
If you are looking for a “Purrfect” entertaining evening out you can’t go wrong with this show. It’s fully immersive as the audience are all guests popped round to visit and you leave the theatre feeling like you would be welcome back at any time to pop in for a cuppa.
Wildcat’s Last Waltz is one of the funniest hours I have spent at the Edinburgh Fringe this year. For more information about the show please use the link below.
