What Goes on Without Me finds Jude in what can only be described as God’s waiting room. God’s busy playing the diligent host in attempt to put her at ease. Not sure that is working!

With some paperwork to complete and a nice cup of tea. The pair settle down to discuss moving forward and what Jude can expect to do next. However, God is very taken by her name and starts to sing The Beetles’ classic Hey Jude to an embarrassed Jude who probably endured this many times before.

It appears many aspects of life on earth are replicated in heaven. Public transport was the one that stood out. Imagine the crowds and noise!

The most poignant part of the play is the discussion of what to do when she is sent down to earth for her final ten minutes on the planet before leaving for eternity. Where would go and why? The recorded interviews from probably fellow students telling us how they would fill their ten minutes leave you thinking the same question.

It’s a good play with some comedy moments bought to the stage by Nottingham New Theatre. If you have a spare hour it’s worth spending it in their company.
